AIDS info (Service of the Department of Health and Human Services) 

AIDS info is a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) project that offers the latest federally approved information on HIV/AIDS clinical research, treatment and prevention, and medical practice guidelines for people living with HIV/AIDS, their families and friends, health care providers, scientists, and researchers. The AIDSinfo project is 100% federally funded.  

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 

ASCO is the world’s leading professional organization representing physicians who treat people with cancer. ASCO’s members set the standard for patient care worldwide and lead the way in carrying out clinical research aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. ASCO's efforts are also directed toward advocating for policies that provide access to high-quality care for all patients with cancer and at supporting the increased funding for clinical and translational research.

Association des Médecins et Médecins-dentistes (AMMD)

Cardiosource enables cardiovascular professionals to easily stay up-to-date with the most relevant research findings and best practices, with analysis and commentary by experts in the field to help put the findings in perspective for immediate application in practice. - helping users stay on top of global cardiology developments without having to travel. Access to Cardiosource is available free as a benefit of membership to all members of the American College of Cardiology, non-members may subscribe to.

Center for Disease Control / Atlanta 

The CDC is one of the 13 major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) , which is the principal agency in the United States government for protecting the health and safety of all Americans and for providing essential human services, especially for those people who are least able to help themselves.

Centre belge d'information pharmacothérapeutique (CBIP)

Le CBIP fournit de façon systématique une information indépendante sur les médicaments. Le CBIP est particulièrement attentif à ce que cette information s'inscrive dans le concept de la "médecine fondée sur les preuves" ("evidence based medicine").

Collège médical 

Le Collège médical regroupe en tant que ordre les médecins, médecins dentistes et pharmaciens. L’inscription au Collège médical est légalement obligatoire pour tous les acteurs de ces professions au Luxembourg à titre temporaire ou définitif.

Fédération des Hôpitaux Luxembourgeoise (FHL)

La FHL est l'association représentant les institutions de santé du secteur aigu (hôpitaux et cliniques), respectivement du secteur long séjour (établissements de soins) au niveau de leurs directions. L'association a pour objet le groupement des établissements hospitaliers luxembourgeois, la défense de leurs intérêts professionnels et la réalisation sous toutes ses formes du progrès hospitalier pour concourir notamment au bien-être du patient.

European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) 

The ECDC is an EU agency that has been created to help strengthen Europe’s defences against infectious diseases, such as influenza, SARS and HIV/AIDS. IThe ECDC will be a small but effective EU agency. It will work in partnership with national health protection bodies across Europe to strengthen and develop continent-wide disease surveillance and early warning systems. By working with experts based in these national bodies the ECDC will pool Europe’s health knowledge, so as to develop authoritative scientific opinions about the risks posed by new and emerging infectious diseases.

European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 

ESMO is a Swiss-registered non-for-profit organization. It has been created in Europe in 1975 as the Société de Médicine Interne Cancérologique with the purposes of advancing the art, science, and practice of medical oncology and disseminating knowledge, in order to maintain a high common standard in medical practice for cancer patients and it took on its present name when it transformed into a pan-European organization in 1980, establishing itself as a leading and highly respected institution in the field of oncology. The rapid growth reflected, in part, the development of medical oncology in Europe. Today, ESMO's flagship journal, Annals of Oncology, ranks among the top 20 international medical oncology journals. ESMO serves its members by supporting them in their daily practice. ESMO's Minimum Clinical Recommendations assess diagnosis and treatment of various cancers, as well as the optimal use of growth factors, and are intended as both guidelines for clinical practice and prerequisites for basic healthcare services.

European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 

The ESC represents more than 45,000 cardiology professionals across Europe and the Mediterranean. Its mission is to improve the quality of life of the European population by reducing the impact of cardiovascular disease.

Fondation Cancer 

Ce site Internet informe aussi bien sur les actions et services de la Fondation Cancer que sur diverses thématiques intéressant le public (prévention, éducation à la santé, etc) et indique des sites intéressants. Il informe les personnes atteintes de cancer sur les actions et services de la Fondation Cancer, mais aussi sur l’aspect psychologique de la maladie et indique des sources fiables d’informations médicales pour les cancers.

National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute 

In November 1985, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute ( NHLBI http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/index.htm ) launched the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP). The goal of the NCEP is to contribute to reducing illness and death from coronary heart disease (CHD) in the United States by reducing the percent of Americans with high blood cholesterol. Through educational efforts directed at health professionals and the public, the NCEP aims to raise awareness and understanding about high blood cholesterol as a risk factor for CHD and the benefits of lowering cholesterol levels as a means of preventing CHD.

Organisation Mondiale de la Santé (OMS - WHO) 

The "Highlights on health" of the website of the WHO provides an overview of a country's health status, describing recent data on mortality, morbidity and exposure to key risk factors along with trends over time. The reports link country findings to public health policy considerations developed by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and by other relevant agencies. The Highlights on health are developed in collaboration with Member States and do not constitute a formal statistical publication.

U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) 

The NCI is the Federal Government's principal agency for cancer research and training. The National Cancer Act of 1971 broadened the scope and responsibilities of the NCI and created the National Cancer Program. Over the years, legislative amendments have maintained the NCI authorities and responsibilities and added new information dissemination mandates as well as a requirement to assess the incorporation of state-of-the-art cancer treatments into clinical practice. The NCI coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and their families.

United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) 

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the DHHS aims to enhance the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of health care services, and access to such services, through the establishment of a broad base of scientific research and through the promotion of improvements in clinical practice and in the organization, financing, and delivery of health care services. The Agency’s website presents health care information, research findings and data for healthcare providers and clinicians.
